A DIWALI EVE TO RECKON &RECOLLECT FOREVER!

DIWALI CELEBRATION WITH A HEART AND PURPOSE!

It is Diwali Eve and as I see the frantic pace of Diwali Preparations to welcome a new dawn, as I hear the crackers bursting noisily, as I smell the  polluted air and as I think of expensive gifts being purchased and exchanged...

I smile and recollect the activities in the past two months of the

'Go Green Drive at Ekta Woods'

 for the

'Diwali Sale with a Heart and Purpose',

culminating in

'A Diwali Eve to Reckon and Recollect Forever '!

To 'Refresh your Memory' about

the'Purpose,Plan and Preparation of the Activity, read on:

Keeping the flag of 'Go Green Drive at Ekta Woods'

flying high, we engaged ourselves in yet another activity of

'Recycling Paper and Creating Useful and Ethnic Items'

Did you all know that every ton of recycled paper saves 17 trees?
So the  advantages of reusing and recycling paper are:
1. Saving Trees
2. Saving Water and Energy.
2. Reducing the Greenhouse  Gas Emission that is destroying the 'Earth's Protective Ozone
Therefore, with  ''An Aim of Creating and Spreading Awareness" about these important facts to others, Shubha Sagar 'Proposed, Planned and Plunged into this activity along with a bunch of creative, caring and conscious teenagers, Suhani Shirsulla, Drishti Kakkar, Tisya Soneta and Gauri Thimmankatti on 10th October at Ekta woods,

The Activity included:

1. Making envelopes from left over papers. 2.Using old greeting cards and wedding cards to decorate the same.3. Making booklets from left over pages in exercise books.4. Making decorative book marks conveying  important messages from old greeting cards.5. Newspaper bags carrying environmental friendly messages written on them.

With plans in the future to:
Make decorative diyas, to put up a Diwali Sale of items created and most important, use the money earned through the activities, for a social cause.

Have a look at the creative and enthusiastic activities done:

THE PLEASURE OF CREATING ETHNIC STUFF FROM SHEER WASTE MATERIAL

WE CREATED 25 ENVELOPES. 4 BOOKLETS AND 4 BOOKMARKS IN JUST TWO DAYS!

What the children learned through this Activity:

We simply discard left over papers and expensive greeting and wedding cards. What a sheer waste of a useful resource such as paper!

Hence why not create useful and aesthetic items by recycling paper, put up a sale of these items and use the money collected for a charitable cause.

'Determined to make a Difference',

to the world around and

'To Do Our Bit for the Environment',

We continued with our activities of

'Recycling Paper through our creative touch'

on Saturday afternoon, 24th October 2015,

'Creating Bookmarks with Meaningful Captions'

out of waste materials,

So you see, we kept moving ahead with 'Small yet Sure Steps',

super excited to put up 'A  Sale of  Useful and Ethnic Items'

Created out of Waste Paper and Materials

 thus

Recycling  Paper through our Creative Touch,

and thus Reducing Paper Wastage

and

Restoring the Environment

in a

 'Small yet Significant Way'.

THE PROMISE:

So are all of you, ready to buy some of these items very soon and be part of a social cause?
