TRIPLE JOY THIS NAVRATRI

Navratris are always very special for me,
lighting the lamp and fasting for nine days
takes my mind, body and soul to another level,
a totally divine feeling comparable to none!

This Navratri,  the joy escalated even more and I experienced Triple Joy !

ONE...of a complete make over of my temple, as you can see in the picture below.
Soak in the divine beauty of  the Trimurti, Ganesh, Sai baba and Durga Maa!

TWO, of having three divine brahma kamals blossoming within 24 hours of the navratri.

Also this is the third time in the year 2015 that these flowers have blossomed in my garden,
( the power of three you see)

THE THREE BUDS APPEARED A WEEK BEFORE NAVRATRIS

THE FIRST ONE BLOOMED ON 12th OCTOBER MIDNIGHT

THE OTHER TWO BLOOMED ON 13th OCTOBER ,MIDNIGHT!

THREE, the sheer joy of sharing my debut book with family and friends!

Call it a coincidence, call it divine providence or divine incidence, call it whatever,

but blessings like these need to be counted and cherished!

I am feeling completely blessed and humbled at the same time.
Just when I felt I could not have asked for more,I had yet another divine experience on the Third Day of the Navratris...
I was instrumental in bringing healing, hope and joy in someone's life and witnessed divine intervention at its best. This reinstated my belief that these nine days are full of blessings for one and all.
May Durga Maa bless each and every one and may each one
'Rejoice and Revel' in Her Divine Glory!

Go Green Drive at Ekta Woods

Hi, friends,we are back as promised!

Keeping the flag of 'Go Green Drive at Ekta Woods' flying high, we engaged ourselves in yet another activity of
'Recycling Paper and Creating Saleable Items'

Did you all know that every ton of recycled paper saves 17 trees?
So the  advantages of reusing and recycling paper are:
1. Saving Trees
2. Saving Water and Energy.
2. Reducing the Greenhouse  Gas Emission that is destroying the 'Earth's Protective Ozone Layer'.

Therefore, with an ''Aim of Creating and Spreading Awareness" about these facts to others, a team of five members,Shubha Sagar, Suhani Shirsulla, Drishti Kakkar , Tisya Soneta and Gauri Thimmankatti set out on two days,Saturday,10th October from 5 to 7 pm and Sunday,11th October from 10.30 am to 1.00 pm
at Ekta Woods, Raheja Estate, Borivali East, Mumbai to conduct this activity:

Current Plans
1. Making envelopes from left over A-4 size papers.
2.Using old greeting cards and wedding cards to decorate the same.
3. Making notepads/booklets from left over pages in exercise books.
4. Making decorative book marks conveying  important messages from old greeting cards.
5. Newspaper bags carrying environmental friendly messages written on them.

Future Plans
6. To make decorative clay and wax diyas, some new and some by recycling old stuff.
7. To make paper lanterns and festoons from recycled paper.
8. To put up a Diwali Sale of all such items created.
9. To use the money earned for a social cause.

Have a look at the creative and enthusiastic activities done:

SEE WHAT WE CREATED TODAY, AND WHAT FUN AND LEARNING TOO!

JUST ONE WEDDING CARD CAN BE USED TO DECORATE

THREE ENVELOPES AND TWO BOOKMARKS,AND A LOT MORE!

DECORATED A BOOKLET AND AN ENVELOPE
                                             FROM A SINGLE GREETING CARD!

SUHANI, IS DEFINITELY A STAR MEMBER OF THE TEAM,
SHE CAME IN STRAIGHT FROM HER HAND BALL PRACTICE AND
WORKED FOR 3 HOURS ON SUNDAY,ALONG WITH SHUBHA SAGAR
TO CREATE 10 ENVELOPES, 2 BOOKLETS AND 2 BOOKMARKS!

EXCELLENT COORDINATION AND TEAM WORK BETWEEN THE TWO !

DRISHTI, JOINED IN LATER TO CONTRIBUTE IN HER OWN SPECIAL WAY!

WE CREATED 25 ENVELOPES. 4 BOOKLETS AND 4 BOOKMARKS

 IN JUST TWO DAYS!

What the children experienced through this Activity:

1. Generally we buy a stack of A-4 size papers for a project and simply discard the ones that are left over.

2. We give and receive expensive greeting cards and just throw them away later on.

3. We collect so many wedding cards and just waste them by dumping them in the bin.

4. What a sheer waste of a useful resource such as paper.

5. What an innovative and creative way to make beautiful and useful items such as envelopes, booklets, bookmarks from all these papers and put them up for sale!

6. We just cannot wait to put up a sale and impress everyone, in and around our building through all these items and our parents and teachers are going to be proud of us too!
7. Moreover, the money we shall collect through the sale of all these items is going to be used for a charitable cause.

Are you not excited to know more about the fun, frolic and great time we would be having in the future through this and other activities?

This is Shubha Sagar along with other team members of ''Go Green Drive', reporting to you from Ekta Woods, Raheja Estate, Borivali- East, Mumbai. See you soon with more exciting news of  some very meaningful activities!

Keep following us, thanks !
